Do you live in NYC and don’t have time to plan your vacation this summer? Or are you a nature lover just like me and you need to get away from all the traffic and high rises for this weekend? Today I’d like to share my experience with Discover Long Island for the amazing 2 nights and 3 days of Hamptons and Montauk. (Special thanks to Yuxi who is an amazing Creative Director and a fun photographer at the same time) For your information, the post is based on my true experience and I was not sponsored from any of those places below. In just a few hours of driving or by train, there are quite a few amazing places in Long Island that I would like to recommend for great weekend getaways.
Lavender by the Bay
Who doesn’t like lavenders? The field full of lavender’s aroma already sounds dreamy. You can visit the lavender farm by driving 2-3 hours from the city depending on where you live and traffic. There are a few different types of lavenders; English, French and Spanish. You can buy all different types of lavenders in different sizes here. A lot of people asked about my dress on my instagram. It is self-portrait just in case you want to know
In the field, there are lavender colored chairs where you can take a rest or a photo
In this romantic spot filled with lavenders, you can plan something even more romantic…So I got my second propose. Oops! Chris (the male model in this photo) knelt to propose so many times during this trip, he has mastered how to kneel and propose for his real one in the future!
Another romantic shot. Hope Eddy doesn’t read this post…
I have to warn you that if you were expecting a wide spread of lavender field all over in front of you, you might be slightly disappointed. The field is rather scattered and quite a few spots are empty. There are certain areas further down where we took the photos that were full of blooms
Another tip is if you want to buy fresh lavenders from this farm, they come to Union Square Green Market. You can buy fresh lavenders and also other lavender products here. As I said there are different kinds of lavenders. What is your favorite? Regardless which one you get, just hang them upside down avoiding direct sunlight. The soothing aroma from lavender will soon fill your space

Bedell CellaDid you guys know that there are many wine cellars in Long Island? I always envy those in the west cost for Napa Valley but it seems that I don’t need to anymore! Bedell Cellar in North Fork, Long Island is a cute winery. You can have a wine tasting on its terrace overlooking its green vineyard
Rose for Summer
Of course, #letmetakeaselfieCheers!
As a souvenir, I got a bottle of First Crush Red 2015, its house blend red wine ($30). I don’t know much about wine and I have a very low alcohol tolerance, but I love pairing any drinks (tea, wine, beer and etc) with food. First Crush Red 2015 was very interesting because it starts with a very light and bright flavor and finishes with a metallic touch at the end. I opened this during dinner with friends at my place. Everyone liked it with bulgogi (Korean marinated beef. Click here for the recipe)

The Baker House 1650Everyone in Manhattan goes to the Hamptons in summer. The Baker House 1650 is such a lovely and cozy bed and breakfast spot in East Hampton. They have two main buildings; The Baker House and The Carriage House. These first 4 photos are taken in The Carriage House where there is a separate swimming pool, private balcony and garden

At the end of the day. we stopped by Cowfish restaurant to have dinner with sunset
There is a small boat where you can take for a few minutes right behind the restaurant
Finally Dinner time! They serve all sorts of food! From sandwich to sushi. We were all hungry as always
Let’s dig in!
We never skip dessert! and there! beautiful sunset with pink sky. My favorite time of a day

Gurney’s Montauk Resort & Seawater Spa
Montauk is located on the end of Long Island. It is surrounded by beautiful beaches so we decided to take out our swimming suits for the first time of this year!
I got a lot of compliments for my sunglasses. This is one of my favorites these days since the lenses and the frame is one piece rather than separate. So unique! They are from gentle monsters. I got it at the Incheon airport duty free shop for less than $300.
Although we did not get to stay at Gurney’s, its service was very good and all the facilities looked very nice. They have a private beach that is connected to the hotel. I hope to come back here again for real vacation later with friends and family

Montauk Point Lighthouse
The iconic Montauk lighthouse that is located at the very end of Long Island. I have to say I loved this place. Surrounded by endless blue ocean, and sky, I can walk and walk along the cliff with this beautiful scenery
Hello, Annette! Such a beautiful model for this trip together
Simply mesmerizing
After all the sightseeing and water activities in Montauk, you must stop by Lobster Roll Restaurant (1980 Montauk Highway Amagansett NY, 11930) on the way back. Absolutely the best lobster roll I’ve ever had.
Hamptons and Montauk is a great weekend getaway from New York City to enjoy beautiful nature and delicious food. Although I love NYC, I always miss blue oceans and green mountains. If you don’t have a car, you can just take a Long Island Rail Road and get here as well.
Once again, this great getaway trip was organized by Discover Long Island Tourism and creative director @oyuxi. This was a great experience for me and I truly enjoyed every place and learned a lot about Long Island. I cannot wait to come back again.

Can you tell me where the other dresses in the pics are from? I just love them! Especially the yellow one with ribbon on back! What brands do you normally shop? And any suggestions for shopping in nyc? Thank you!!!
JOO says
Hi Minnie 🙂 Some of the dresses on this post are mine and some were prepared by Discover Long Island. The yellow ribbon one was from one small boutique shop that I don’t remember the name of. There are always many sales going on in the city! I love saks 5th for its convenience but there are always many sample sales that you can check it out!
