[New York] Park Avenue Summer

August 6, 2023 by JOO

COVER

NYC Restaurant Week is a semiannual promotion which offers three-course prix-fixe lunch menu for $29 and dinner menu for $42. This could be a great opportunity to check out the restaurant! This year the restaurant week is from July 25th to Aug 19th. You can check out more information here.

I went to Park Avenue Summer to try the lunch course for NYC restaurant week.

Park Avenue restaurant changes the theme of the decoration by seasons: winter, spring, summer, and fall.

Because it is still August, the restaurant is decorated with lots of green leaves! so summery and fresh! This made me feel like I am in the garden. I’ve heard that winter is really pretty too because they decorate the entire restaurant in all white! It is so fun to check out the changes in the decoration as season changes!

The restaurant is run by Fourth Wall Restaurants which manages many famous restaurants in the city such as Smith & Wollensky location, Maloney & Porcelli, Quality Meats and Quality Italian.

It is perfect for someone like me who have really low tolerance. Slush texture summer cocktail!

6Oh, all that truffle

5

Lots of truffles, please!!!

7

appetizer 1. CORN GNOCCHI Summer Truffles & Parmesan

Delicious! only wish they’ve put more truffle.. Yea i know that it would be additional 10 bucks…

8

Appetizer 2. STRAWBERRY GAZPACHO Watermelon, Tomato & Fresh Goat Cheese

I’ve ordered gazpacho since it looks very interesting combo : strawberry + watermelon + tomato? It was very refreshing since gazpacho is served in cold. The flavor has Asian touch on it since they’ve put some cilantro and lemon grass too. Lastly, goat cheese was the kick! brings all the flavors together in the bowl!

10

My friend and I both got Branzino dish. One of my favorite fish.

BRANZINO Charred Ratatouille & Saffron Aioi

11

Pepper please, I like pepper. Black, Red, Green doesn’t matter! Since 2 slices of fish were served with ratatouille sauces, you can expect more flavors than regular fish dishes. I liked it.

Desserts

PEACH BASIL SORBET Honey Poached Peaches and SUMMER BERRY & PASSIONFRUIT TART

Cocktail room next to the bar where you can have finger food and drink.

You can use this area for the reception area if you are planning any private event.

Overall, I was satisfied with food, service, and ambiance.

The most unique thing I would say is how they change the decoration by season. I’d love to come at least once in every season to check out the decoration! Since Park Avenue Summer offers a few different options for private room with different size and ambiance, I would definitely suggest to those who are looking for private events. Oh, I did not check out the third private room in the basement. If you want extra more privacy, you might want to check out the basement too!
